WELKER NAMED TO NHSCA BOARD OF DIRECTORS April 2, 2019 Bob Ferraro, founder of the National High School Coaches Association, recently announced the selection of Bill Welker to their Board of Directors as the Folkstyle wrestling consultant. A former Pennsylvania State Champion, Welker has been involved with Folkstyle wrestling for over 60 years. His experiences in the mat sport includes nearly 30 years of coaching at the high school, middle school, and elementary levels. Welker is also an award-winning official and wrestling writer. He was the wrestling rules interpreter for the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission for 28 years. Welker has also served on the National Federation of State High School Association's national wrestling rules committee from 2012 to 2015.
