South is the clear favorite but it looks like Parkersburg will defend their 2nd place ranking against Ripley and University.
There are five teams battling for the 5th spot with St. Albans, Wheeling Park and Riverside being pushed by Huntington, and John Marshall.
Several teams will look to crack the top ten with Greenbrier East and George Washington leading the pack and being chased by Cabell Midland, Spring Valley, Musselman, Washington, Brooke, Buckhannon and Hurricane.

Re: AAA Power Rankings
Good stuff Brent. I went back and looked at the 2014 State Tournament team summary where it listed the placement and total points scored by each participant. Average points scored for that year were...
1st 26
2nd 20
3rd 17.5
4th 15
5th 11
6th 8
NP 1
Using the average points earned in 2014-if the state tournament were today and the wrestlers placed in the order of their current rankings (I added Allman to #1 at 195), the team race would look like the following.
1 Parkersburg South 309
2 Parkersburg 127.5
3 University 127
4 Ripley 113.5
5 Wheeling Park 91.5
6 Saint Albans 88
7 Riverside 80.5
8 Huntington 80
9 John Marshall 72.5
10 Greenbrier East 61.5
11 Cabell Midland 53
12 George Washington 49.5
13 Buck-Up 42
14 Hurricane 40
15 Spring Valley 40
16 Washington 40
17 Brooke 38
18 Musselman 35
19 Hamphsire 23
20 Woodrow Wilson 20
21 Jefferson 5
22 Hedgesville 1
1st 26
2nd 20
3rd 17.5
4th 15
5th 11
6th 8

Re: AAA Power Rankings
I used the following scale for assigning points:
RANK - POINTS (place points + advancement)
1 - 22 (16+6)
2 - 18 (12+6)
3 - 13 (9+4)
4 - 11 (7+4)
5 - 7 (5+2)
6 - 5 (3+2)
7 - 2 (0+2)
8 - 2 (0+2)
9 - 1 (0+1)
10 - 1 (0+1)
I could of put more thought into it, but it's all subjective. I did not allow for bonus points for pins, techs and majors and oh yea... forfeits, Those bonus points can help a team move up their position. Either way, it shows how the state tournament should play out. And it's still early and I'm sure the rankings will change as the season progresses.
Thanks - Brent
