parkersburg big red roster

I heard last night that braxton bird quit the team. I then noticed that the big reds just put their roster on wvssac.com. birf was not on the roster. i also noticed that freshman county champ (chance mathess) was also not on the roster. He was a good wrestler with a 4-1 record with 2 pins. did he also quit the team ? phillips essenmachor who had wrestled a couple of matches was also not on the roster. I'm wondering if he to is now off the team. I talked to the big red coach at the wvu/va tech match and he told me they had 24 on the team. the roster only has 19 team members. with the 3 above mentioned kids not on the roster that makes 22 kids. I'm wondering what other 2 wrestlers may have quit.

Back in the day you feared for your position on the team. Regardless,you were lucky to be part of a wrestling team, particularly with tradition. Now days ( I'll keep politics out) kids come and go as they please. They quit and then come back. Virtually consequence free and when that happens they feel a sense of superiority as if the team must have them and they begin to set terms. I hate seeing a kid quit the greatest sport on earth particularly when he isn't mature enough to realize the guilt he will harbor his entire life, on the flip side I hate seeing a kid w no respect given more chances than he is entitled expecially when it costs a lesser skilled yet more dedicated wrestler his position.

Sorry, my comment was triggered by the previous post but the passion lies in several situations currently related to our team, a few particular circumstances on teams neighboring us, the sad state of entitlement and bad memories from my days of wrestling . Lol a collective thought, if you will...
