George Washington had three wrestlers due back from last season that qualified for the state tournament.
Fore
Hall
Lorea
I didn't see any of these dudes in the scores against St. Albans from last night's match.
Can anybody give me an explanation for this?
GW won their region in 2014 and was runner up in 2015 and 2016.
What is going on up on the hill????????????

A coaching change is not a good reason to quit a sport.

Lorea and Hall did not have enough practices in to be eligible is what I heard.

So they are out for the sport and hitting the mat soon. Where is Fore? He could be 113, which is needed over in region 3.

George Wahington has everyone back from last year except our talented group of seniors. We wrestlesd the guys on Wednesday night that had in their required practices, so the coaching change has nothing to do with the low number that wrestled. The others mentioned above were there but unable to take the mat. We will have most of our weight classes on the mat next weekend in Point Pleasant. This is obviously a rebuilding year for us but we are excited to see what the younger talent has to offer.

Will GW be able to field a 113 pounder this season?

Re: George Washington Roll Call
Teams like GW and Ripley have always been willing to step on the mat with South almost every year. I have always admired coach Smith and coach Harper in the past for accepting the challenge. It's getting harder to fill schedules in AAA with less teams. I miss the duals with AA/A powers Oak Glen, East Fairmont, Fairmont Senior and North Marion too.

Working on a 113, but GW does have a returning 106!
