On December 1st, St. Albans did battle with George Washington. Tragically, both teams double forfeited 113 and 285.
Both of these teams are in the new AAA Region 3.
I know it is very early, but we already have two schools forfeiting two weight classes. That leaves 6 schools to provide at least 4 wrestlers in these two weight classes.
I would bet you a Tudor's biscuit that South Charleston, Capital and Princeton will not have a 113 pounder either.
I hope I am wrong. Super wrong. Bigly wrong.
However, if they do not, then we at best have three 113 pounders in region 3. Hopefully Greenbrier East, Woodrow Wilson and Riverside have one.
AAA Region 4 on the other hand has kids coming out of retirement and coming in from middle school to fill 113.
If I was a coach in region 3, I would be at the school's front door with some scales. I'd weigh every small kid and every big kid. If they were 113 or less, I'd offer them an all expense paid trip to Huntington in February. If they were 220 to 285, I'd offer the same trip..............all you can eat.
The first individual poll for 113 will probably be dominated by region 4 and region 1.
As for 285, every school should have this position filled. We got more heavy weights now than ever before. RECRUIT!!!!!!
