Roane County wrestlers

Congratulations to Roane County High School wrestlers and twin brothers Camden Moore and Cole Moore who are Co-Valedictorians of their 2016 graduating class. Furthermore, another Roane wrestler, Riley White, is the Salutatorian.

I copied this from the front page and thought it worthy of praise for these young men. It is quite an accomplishment for 3 young men who spend so much time excelling in sports to also be so brilliant in the classroom. Surely a sign of good parenting and will to achieve at a high level from these young men. Great work on and off the mat guys! I'm impressed!

Congratulations to them! I always stress to my son and wrestlers that I coach that academics comes first and then wrestling. Long after our bodies have declined and wrestling has become a thing of our past we will still have our minds and intelligence to help us succeed at life. Glad to see these young men are on a solid path to success.

I agree Gator, these young men have proven that wrestlers do excel in the classroom, not just on the mat. I know these individuals on 'both sides of the fence' having coached against them and shared storied with each as well. Great young men no doubt. Spencer/Roane County has a monopoly for outstanding performances, I speaking now on the athletic part of wrestling. They have produced 5 4X state champions, 3X Dutton award winners, 3X Dave Schultz HS Excellence award Winners for WV, and 6 MOW awards at the HS state tourney. Hope my records are corrects but what an amazing run by my long time rival. But friends as well.
