GW had a "Colten Rollyson" place 5th at 182lbs this past season.
I now read where Herbert Hoover has a "Colten Rollyson" playing baseball.
If this is the same dude, then AA/A 182/195ish just got even tougher. Lets not forget about Point's Safford being in AA/A next season.

Re: Colten Rollyson
I never kid on here.
AAA will have 29 teams. Half of them will be struggling to exist.
South will be kings, soon without a kingdom.
AAA region 4 will be fun to watch though. Region 4 aka Slaughter House Seven.

South doesn't just play on the WV playground. They will be in the Ironman, Powerade and possibly Beast of the East this year. And, as always, the OVAC and North Canton tourneys. Unfortunately, it looks like the OVAC and WSAZ tourneys fall at the same time.
The top 10 AAA teams won't change much, so calling AAA minor leagues is a bit far fetched.

Gator , You might be right. Bearhugger might be a year late with that statement. I believe the word becoming should be has become. Looking at A/AA State Champions vs AAA State champions of 2015/2016. I only see 3 AAA kids that I believe would be state champions is they were in the A/AA
division. Just my opion, It could be like my spelling, rong.
Re: Colten Rollyson
Adding Rollyson to the upperweight A/AA mix will make regional and state tournaments interesting.
Opinions can be influenced by our natural bias. Gator has a AAA/Parkersburg South bias, Frank has a AA/Indy bias. Heck I remember one time ole Frank voted for a team in a mid season middle school poll that did not even have a wrestling program to move his own team ahead in the rankings. Two things that cannot be debated (1) A/AA 170 had 6 underclassmen on the podium last year and that, along with the reconfiguration of classifications will make for some exciting matches (2) AAA region 4 will be worth the price of admission with the 5th place finisher in some weights potentially winning other regions.

Gator, you are correct. AAA's top ten teams will not change much and it will be that way until the end of time or when the next 1-2 schools drop out of AAA and go to AA/A.
Ripley has been a top 10 AAA team for a long time. They are the smallest AAA team.

Re: Colten Rollyson
Unfortunately, the political scene has changed and reshaped our state and we have a dwindling population that has hurt sports and we have lost jobs.
Parkersburg once had a population near 45,000 in 1960, but the 2010 census listed it at 31,500. Manufacturing jobs have diminished and so have the people who stay in the area. I really feel for the people in the coalfields where the war on coal has depleted work.
Perhaps the cutoff numbers need to change to get some of the teams back in AAA. Either that or we'll soon be forced to go back to one division.
