Noah Adams - Taking Care of Business

Postby Bearhugger » Sun Feb 28, 2016 8:44 pm

Once the wrestling smoke cleared in Huntington, Noah Adams of Independence was the only wrestler in the building who pinned 100% of his opponents.

He scored all the points he could, thus he did all he could to help his team.

No injuries this season either.

Despite all the hard work in the practice room (where all the wrestlers are) and the years of going through Indy's programs (where all the wrestlers have gone), Noah and his dad are in the weight room year round.

In the weight room every Sunday AFTER winning a tournament the day before. In the weight room DURING the season. He lifted weights the week of the state tournament.

God doesn't play favorites. Noah's momma didn't feed him thunder and lightning when he was a baby. Noah's dad doesn't have communist Russian wrestlers from the cold war days living in the basement to workout with him every morning.

I don't think Dan Gable was hired to come and teach Noah how to tighten up his half-nelson either.

Hard work!

Everybody should add some "iron" to their diet.
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!

Most dominant wrestler of the tournament. His finals match was an awesome display of power. I left the tournament telling our kids that is what they should drive for....excellence

Every kid can improve. You can be the slickest of the slick, but if you blow out your shoulder, you are on the sidelines.

If you are getting "manhandled" in wrestling, then training with a 5 time state champ doesn't matter.

There were many wrestlers this season who went up 2-3 weight classes. In looking at them, it didn't look like their weight gain contained any "iron" in their diet.

They finished lower on the podium too. Of the kids who went up 2+ weight classes and matched or improved last season's accomplishments, they look like they consumed some iron.

WVU's wrestling team has a strength and conditioning program. Go watch Youtube.
