Seeding Regional Champions
Seeding Regional Champions
I know state tournament seeding has been discussed multiple times on this forum (usually around this time of the year), but has there been discussions at the WVSSAC level of seeding the Regional Champions (i.e., Hybrid Pill) based upon the latest coaches rankings?
Re: Seeding Regional Champions
That is what the WVYWA does. Takes about 2.5 hours to seed 60+ age/weight divisions. Fairly simple concept...

What you want to avoid is the probable championship match happening in the semi finals.
If the #1 and #2 wrestlers are in the same region it will be avoided.
If they are in separate regions the pill gives us a 66.6% chance of getting it right.
A hybrid pill would avoid that 33.3% chance our pill has of getting it wrong.
I used to be opposed to seeding partially for selfish reasons(possible great matches on Friday evening).
Now I think the Hybrid pill just might be a good thing.
