Every match wrestled should count on the record, correct?

Your record is your record. All Matches count.
But it’s also important to keep in Class matches as well.

A kid may be 28-15 overall, but since he dropped down a class he is 13-1.

When you go to the seed meeting you will have to go off overall record.

After being in my share of seeding meetings I know that this is neither the way anyone does it nor will anyone agree with me, but my 2 pennies is if a wrestler wrestles all season at a weight class and has a 45-3 record, then switches to a different weight class for regionals, he should be seeded with a 0-0 record, not a 45-3 record. I do not believe that a wrestler should accumulate a record versus a group of wrestlers and then be seeded ahead of other wrestlers who he never faced and who never faced any common opponents.

The term "You gotta beat the man to be the man" applies. If a wrestler has not beaten any of the "men" in a class then he does not deserve to get to be the "man" in the class.
