Peyton was a 4x WV state champ at Oak Glen. He was one win away from being an NCAA D1 All American as a true freshman. Unfortunately in the consolation blood round he caught the No. 2 seed Valencia who was wrestling back after being upset.
Congrats on a great season in a tough weight class.
Peyton Hall goes 3-2 in first NCAA
Re: Peyton Hall goes 3-2 in first NCAA
Had had a great year and an incredible tournament. One win away from being an AA in the deepest weight class in college.
I’ve wondered all year why he isn’t 157. I mean he’s no a tiny 165, he’s definitely gotten bigger, but it’s not like he’s huge either. And 157 isn’t anywhere near as tough as 165.

Yep. A true freshman from a small WV school at 165, but oh what an effort.
Too bad WVmat doesn’t hold an online Q&A with Coach Flynn. Maybe we can get a fan Q&A next season. I would think (hope) a WVU head wrestling coach reads the state’s wrestling website. Fans like me expect an NCAA team top-20 finish next year. Time to succeed as a team.
