Most Individual Pins
Most Individual Pins
Just for fun thought we could post on what wrestlers have the most victories by pins this year. Not forfeits or wins just pins.
Re: Most Individual Pins
Its gotta be a south wrestler lol
Re: Most Individual Pins
The Miller kid from Musselman has alot of pins this year.

South hasn't wrestled enough matches this year to be in the running noshow.

Re: Most Individual Pins
I'll get it started. Zac Odom from Hampshire has 25 pins out of 30 wins this season.
Re: Most Individual Pins
A little over 83% of his matches are pins that's pretty darn good.
Re: Most Individual Pins
Winfield Alex Hale has had 32 wins and 28 via pin & Jamie ward has had 37 wins and 28 via pins
Re: Most Individual Pins
Fayettevilles Tristan Swafford has 28 pins out of 33 wins total

Re: Most Individual Pins
Looking at results on here I found that 132 Creaner has 26 pins. He may have more than that. Only his coaches know. I don't think all of Spring Valleys' results are on here.
Re: Most Individual Pins
If you are winning all your matches by fall, your coach needed to engineer a tougher schedule - just my .02.
Re: Most Individual Pins
Look up the name of Wade Schalles.. Maybe spell check the last name for sure but I think that's right. Greatest pinner in the history of our sport.

Shouldn't the equation be #pins/# actual matches
I can offer this data: Richie Stanley 182 of Hampshire has 28 matches (not counting forfeits for obvious reasons) with 20 pins.

Let's not forget Dan Hodge who pinned his way through the 1956 NCAA Championships, then went to the National Freestyle tournament and pinned everyone there, then went to the National Greco-Roman tournament and pinned everyone there. He literally pinned his way through three consecutive national titles in a row.

Cody Clark finished his career with 113 pins in his 4 seasons (2006-2010). That is averaging 28.25 pins per season. Not bad against a quality schedule during his time at Calhoun County High School.

Re: Most Individual Pins
1. Plus Danny Hodge did not give up a point his senior season including the NCAA's.
2. Mean Gene Mills is generally regarded as the greatest pinner ever - I think Shalles would concur.
3. I agree with mscoach26 - Someone could have 100% and not be that good depending on their competition
4. That is awesome Coach Stump - I know Cody wrestled quality competition- remember him well.

Has anyone ever seen that demonstration where you tell one person a story and by the time it gets to the 20th person in the room it is way off, thats kind of how these threads get on here...lol
The thread is how many pins this year.....

Re: Most Individual Pins
pins only matter when your losing big and you get the big pin. I'd rather win 1-0 in the state finals over the guy that 100-0 with 100 pins. It's a forum man, a chat room. Noah Adams would rather punish you and work for 3 periods than pin you. I mean kudos to the kids that are pinning their opponents but I agree with a previous post, if your pinning all your opponents your wrestling the wrong schedule. Just wouldn't be ethical to mention pinning opponents and not mention Wade Schalles!Repoman1304 wrote:Has anyone ever seen that demonstration where you tell one person a story and by the time it gets to the 20th person in the room it is way off, thats kind of how these threads get on here...lol

Your logic is sound except there are 14 weight classes. Some of the best teams might have one or two superstars, but not 14.
My thoughts would be if one kid is pinning everybody, I would engineer the other 13 starters to follow in the phenom's footsteps.
For example, if the "pinner" is in the weight room years round, then I would stress the other wrestlers to do the same.
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!

Does anyone know what time McDonalds shifts to the midnight menu? I'm really feeling a hot fudge sundae w the packet of toppings (ain't saying it) or maybe a milkshake. Who hates how they make them now with the whipped cream? You lose at least an inch or two of milkshake.

I wish we would travel more and wrestle farther west to see tougher competition. I've been advocating (and fundraising) for four years now to no avail, as has many of our parents. It is what it is.
