UPSET ALERT

Madonna's #4 seed Casey Recrosio just upset #1 seed Brandon Bertrand of John Marshall in the semifinals 3-1 OT.

Recrosio now faces #2 seed (#1 AAA WV rankings) Luke Martin (PS) in the finals.

Recrosio was not ranked in the Jan 7 A/AA coaches poll for some reason.

Different Weirton school, but Caleb Rae from Weir High wrestled his way into the finals at 120. Wrestled a tough match against Shadyside's Greg Quinn in the finals.

Gator-- Caleb was very game and kept coming throughout the match. We can expect a good run out of him in Huntington.

PS The name of the school is WEIR HIGH SCHOOL (after National Steel founder Ernest T. Weir) and not Weirton High as it's often called.

Weirton Madonna has all of their "Lucky Stars" lined up and they have taken their program over "The Borderline".

I'm sure Madonna (located in Hancock County) will be in Region I when the lists posted on other threads is corrected.

Region I in A/AA is incredibly strong -- you can draw a big triangle from Oak Glen in the north, to Berkeley Springs in the east, and then down to Fairmont in the southern portion of the region. WOW.
