Re: Transfer Portal - High School
I said this in a discussion regarding football and I will repeat it here.
Good coaching + good facilities + support from the school and community will rarely result in athletes transferring away to another program. If athletes are leaving your program to go compete elsewhere (except for the family moving) then you need to look at your program first and not just blame a transfer portal system that allows it to happen.

SERIOUSLY!!!
It has already shown a lop sided effect in football. " That is just my opinion."

The word on the street is Musselman has potentially picked up two free agents. One from Montana and one from Ohio. More to come on that.

Sounds like there was two sets of parents that got thrown into the transfer portal. Are these potential transfers going to be at Super 32?

Maybe I am completely misunderstanding something. I am interpreting your post as two families moving to WV from Montana and Ohio for the sole purpose for their HS sons to play football. I certainly won't say that isn't true because I do not know a thing about the situation, but that sounds preposterous.

John my friend, I am glad you are taking interest in WV High School Wrestling. You have been a subject matter expert on WVU's lineup over the past two to three seasons and have provided bold predictions. John "Wayne" Perkins.
Let me clarify my post about the two new gentlemen at Musselman.
1. Musselman has acquired two new students.
2. Both are currently playing football.
3. Both have wrestled in the past.
4. There is a strong chance they will be joining Musselman's wrestling team.
5. They are not going to Super 32.
6. Hopefully they will wrestle, do well, shake things up and get the opportunity to walk on at WVU.
7. I am not sure why the families moved to the Musselman jurisdiction.

Phil Phillips projected 285. From Ohio.
The other kid is called "Montana" and my source doesn't know his real name yet. Alleged third in the states in Montana.

So the two kids from South left due to subpar coaching, lack of facilities and community support ?

The word on the street............
is another wrestler is ready to move his feet.
For now, it is all talk,
but in approximately one week, he will walk.
He will be changing only one color and keeping red.
That's all for now, enough said.

I don't know who those two athletes are and would not be willing to speak on their specific situation. I used the word "rarely" for a reason. Maybe their parents got new jobs and they had to relocate. Maybe they were JV and wanted a chance to be varsity. Maybe they were unhappy with the education they were receiving at the school. Maybe they didn't like the coach. Maybe the hotdogs are better in their new community. There are a lot of reasons why athletes transfer. My statement was a general statement and I stand by it. Unless there are extenuating circumstances, athletes do not leave a good program where they are well supported by the school and community.

Due to Internet connection issues today at the receiving school, this transfer is stuck between schools. Perhaps it will be a done deal by Thursday.

After listing all those possible reasons, I think you are now agreeing with me.
