The statistics on seeding the WSAZ through Coaches seeding meeting for 2020

1 Seed Champion - 57%
2 Seed Champion - 29%
3 Seed Champion - 7%
Efficiency Rating - 93%

1 Seed in finals - 93%
2 Seed in finals - 85%
3 Seed in finals - 7%
5 Seed in finals - 7%
6 Seed in finals - 7%

Only 20 top 8 Seeds did not place
Only 4 Non-Seeded Wrestlers Placed (2 Brothers from South Harrison - Good day for the Hogsed family)

Have a lot of other useless data from the pivot chart, but this shows that seeding a very large multi state tournament can be done with a very high efficiency rating. Some other useless stats:

14/14 #1 Seeds placed in the top 3
14/14 #2 Seeds placed in the top 6
13/14 #3 Seeds placed in the top 8
13/14 #4 Seeds placed in the top 8
12/14 #5 Seeds placed in the top 8
7/14 #6 Seeds placed
12/14 #7 Seeds placed
7/14 #8 Seeds placed

J.W.,
Great job crunching the numbers. Looks like the seeds were pretty efficient.

Cool stats. Congrats to the South Harrison guys who placed and were not seeded.

When I glanced at the seeds before the WSAZ, I was surprised the Hogsed brothers were not seeded. I am sure many were surprised.

One of them was third in the state last season. Both are highly ranked this season.

It is what it is. However, this was more of a questionable seeding transaction.

To add a few more random statistics; 48 (43%) of placers performed higher than their seed, 28(25%) lower than their seed, and 36(32%) finished at their seed. if you do an overall +/- of top 8 finish with expected seed, you have a +87 (+0.777 /place/weight). Overall placers averaged 1.8 spots within expected seeding. Some weight were really good, i.e. 106 and 113, some weights not so good, i.e. 195 and 220.
