I had to go to the emergency room Sunday. I was in horrible pain. They found I had kidney stones. I had the surgery to take them out Monday. I was hoping I would feel better by Thursday, but I didn't. My doctor told me I better sit this one out. It killed me not to go. It's the first one I've missed in 20 years.

Since I know you always request this, I'll start by pointing out two punctuation errors.
Comma after you should be a period and absence of any punctuation after there should have a period.
How am I doing so far?
