I saw somewhere they passed a rule stating that teams could move up a classification in individual sports. Wonder if any of the AA/A teams that have 17-18 teams per region are considering jump up to AAA where there is only 7??? Yea, I know that they would have to compete with South, Huntington, and others at the state tournament but it may give more opportunity to advance more wrestlers to the big stage. Just a thought!

Depending on the region, less teams does not necessarily mean greater opportunity, IMO.

Anyone know the deadline if making the choice to move up?

If a team moves up, how is it decided what region they compete in? Is it going to be handled as simple as a AA region 3 team decides to move up and they automatically go to AAA region 3? I am taking upon myself that is how the decision making would go.
AA/A region 3 has Independence, Greenbrier West and a few rugged individuals from the other schools. AAA region 3 is the land of forfeits and byes.
I can see how a school could actually move up from R3 AA/A to AAA R3 and qualify more of their team.
Nobody will be moving up until South drops off. South keeps their crown in 2019 and 2020 for sure.

I think every school should move up. Then what? I dont expect any to move up. But, lets say 8 schools moved up...how would that be handled?

I like your thinking. It would be interesting for 8 or more schools to move up just to force the WVSSAC to have to jump and make some decisions and changes in 2 weeks to 2 months as opposed to taking 2 years to implement.

That would be called a "miracle!"
