AAA Fearless Forecast

Same song as A/AA Forecast, not meant to hurt feelings. I know less about AAA than I do AA. Looked at pairings and pulled up scores here and there.
106 Jace Stockett Univ vs Michael Dolan Spring Mills
In an effort to show that Coach Regalbuto’s wrestlers do indeed get respect I am picking Dolan as the State Champion by major decision
113 Brandon Holt St Albans vs Jacob McCarren Spring Mills
As much as I would like to continue my Spring Mills love fest, Holt is the cream in this weight class and reading the forum I know that the cream always rises to the top. Holt by decision.
120 Jake Staud University vs Tucker Windland PSouth
Windland won round one at OVAC. The University coaches will channel their energy into Staud to pull out a decision and a state title.
126 Brayden Roberts PSouth vs Joey “The Animal” Miller Musselman
The IronEagle was on top of the podium last year but has problems in Huntington with Lusher. Lusher is on the other side of the building but the Animals problems persist when he faces the guy that beat Lusher. Roberts by decision.
132 Gavin Quiocho PSouth vs Bo Moler PHS
City rivalry Regional rematch will be a close one. I am taking the one that I can’t say his name. Quiocho by decision.
138 John Martin Best PHS vs Luke Martin
City and regional rematch plus similar names and both are defending state champs. Overtime flip of a coin. I will take the southern Martin but would not be shocked either way.
145 Stephen Carder PHS vs Jordan Wood John Marshall
This is my upset special in the bottom half of the bracket. Third placer from Region One makes it to the finals but cannot get past the Big Red. Major Decision.
152 Owen Zeiders Univ vs Josh Humphreys PSouth
Josh Humphreys is the best wrestler in WV any division so when I say congratulations to Zeiders for returning to 152 to take on the returning MOW and Dutton heir apparent it is not sarcasm or meant as a backhanded comment. It looked like Zeiders was going to pursue an easier route and run to 145 earlier in the year. It does not matter what I think, it is up to every kid parent and coach to make up their mind what is in their and the team's best interest but I admire the kid who faces what seems like insurmountable odds. A win here and Zeiders will have a Louden Swain like legacy. My prediction is Humphreys by pin but I have a ton of respect to young Mr. Zeiders for accepting the challenge.
160 Anthony Carman John Marshall vs Zain Hinzman PSouth
Looking at results but not having seen either match I would give the nod to Hinzman based upon the match scores and the most recent win. Hinzman by decision. Special mention to John Nash who would have been my pick to win it.
170 Jacob Berisford John Marshall vs Cameron Pine Washington
Looks like John Marshall has put together a nice team and will win some head to heads in the early rounds which will affect the team race. In this one Pine is just too much for Berisford. Pine by major decision.
182 Blake Miller Preston vs Zane Lanham Huntington
Miller is 53-1 which is an amazing record but he has not wrestled anything close to the caliber of schedule that Lanham has wrestled. I will not be shocked with a Dunbar PSouth vs Lanham finals but Lanham takes home the top prize by decision either way.
195 Dustin Swisher Hampshire vs Cody Stanley Spring Valley
Spring Valley has developed into a football powerhouse and its upperweights complete an impressive multi sport roster. This is a rematch of last year where I think they split in the state tournament. I am normally siding with my southern brethren, results show that Stanley wrestled 220 the majority of the season and before regionals dropped to 195. With Stanleys rapid and unexplainable weight loss the crystal ball says Swisher by decision.
220 Braxton Amos PSouth vs BJ Haynes Ripley
At the end of last season this was the AAA weight class I wanted to see Wood vs Haynes vs Porter or Stanley vs Swisher or Lambert vs Amos. Things did not work out and have some late season weight loss and surprising weight gains. Similar to what happened in Noah Adams' weight last year in A/AA. Tip of the cap to Lambert Wood and Haynes for staying in the weight class like 152 I like their moxy. Amos wins by decision.
285 Louden Haga PSouth vs Owen Porter Spring Valley
I really thought we might see Holley make a late season appearance. Haga is a two time runner up and Porter is a defending state champ. I did not see the match last week so I do not know if the pin was one of domination or if Haga got caught as sometimes happens with the biggins. Porter is giving up a lot of weight bumping up to 285. Haga by decision.
MOW Humphreys
COY South's coach if they break a record otherwise it will go to the third place team coach, I am guessing Archer?
106 Jace Stockett Univ vs Michael Dolan Spring Mills
