With the impending weather forecast, are there any tournaments that have canceled due to inclement weather? We have pushed weigh ins back 2 hrs to accomodate traveling teams at the Logan tournament. So far we are going to be wrestling on Saturday. So far....

In addition, what schoools will not be allowed to compete this weekend?

I am sad to say the 2nd Annual Cornelius Godfrey Memorial Invitational Duals tournament being held tomorrow (1/13/18) at the Logan High Field House has been canceled due to impending inclement weather. No dates for rescheduling are available.
The Logan county wrestling league novice youth tournament scheduled for Sunday will still be held as planned.

Just learned that Kanawha County Schools has canceled all after school activities and practices. Don't know if this will affect schools attending tournaments this weekend????

The weekend before the state would be a good time for everyone to reschedule these events. Since this was the worst decision that the WVSSAC made to have the regionals 2 weeks before the state take advantage of this time to have your tournaments!!!

Only because I want to make sure about this... once regionals start, no other competition is allowed, right? But maybe? I know in baseball, winners of sectionals can compete with each other before the regional tournament, but other schools cannot. Or am I misremembering this and it's the winners of regionals? Either way, maybe there are rules set in place to allow more competition after regionals/before states?

2nd worse decision. In any case, they aren't allowed to compete between regional and state.

Nitro, Sissonville, GW, Riverside all arrived at Winner’s Chiice this morning prior to any cancellations.

There is no rule to keep you from competition between the Regionals and State.

At our rules coaches meeting it was asked about wrestling the weekend between regionals and states and was told you are not allowed

I will stop by the WVSSAC Monday and find out but we was never told that you couldn't. It's still wrestling season and if you have enough weigh ins it's all good. I will post Monday afternoon!
