Watched Padilla wrestle at Top Gun against the kid that beat him in the state finals. 2-1 match. Frazier May win but you’ll be surprised how competitive this match will be.

285 for Fairmont Senior was #3 in the nation according to win magazine

120 for Seneca valley has been in and out of the national rankings

You’re right he won it last year (unclear why the Ohio stud doesn’t attend Ironman). I was thinking of the previous year when he finished 8th at 285.

Zach cruises through the Brooke tournament.

Where’s Brecksville? I was hoping to see Victor Voinovich step up and challenge Peyton Hall at 152.

Even if Brecksville didn’t have a conflict in their schedule, they generally don’t ever bump around for a particular matchup in tournaments. Side note, Hall wins that match
In the end we win

Studcradle, your cockiness is why a lot of people disregard what you say. you got people from your own state rooting for the Ohio boy. I am hoping to see Padilla and Frazier in the finals. What an interesting match this will be.

Studcradle is cocky but I haven’t seen anyone rooting against Frazier. Who wouldn’t want to see him represent WV and get a win against a nationally ranked out of state opponent?

Confucius say “Man with hole in pocket feels cocky all day”

Call me what you will but Frazier was tested by Chapman more than he will be tested by Padilla.
That’s not a knock on the Brooke tournament aaacoach33.

I won’t put “my picks” on here for this tournament. These are the top 6 seeds by predetermined criteria. They still have to wrestle. Also, as always there are many beyond the top 6 that will make some noise.
In the end we win

I don’t get how Frazier is not nationally ranked. I know he is a football player who wrestles and he doesn’t go do all the national wrestling tournaments, so maybe he doesn’t get national exposure. But his success on the mat in his high school career speaks for itself, he just beat a ranked kid in the finals 5-0 at the Brooke classic and I doubt the national sites that do ranking will notice. It probably isn’t a goal of his, but I just like to see credit given where credit is due. WV just doesn’t churn out elite athletes on a regular basis, Frazier has proven to be one of those undeniable hole grown elite talents. Wish him all the luck in the future, but people like him don’t need luck, they make their own luck by embracing the grind in achieving their goals.

Well said. No state churns out athletes like Zach all the time. The majority of football players at his level would not wrestle because they are busing "working on football". Everybody likes Zach!!

The funny thing is... Zach doesn't care that he's not ranked. I believe he gets snubbed because he doesn't go to all these other tournaments, but that's because his focus is on football. Let that sink in a little bit... he focuses on football and is still this good at wrestling. Zach is a great kid and as humble as anyone with such talent that you'll ever meet. Everyone needs to stop worrying or feeling bad that he's not ranked this or that. Zach knows how good he is. His coaches and teammates know how good he is... and I guarantee his opponents know how good he is. Can't wait to watch another Polar Bear on the field at WVU next season.

No question about it....I doubt anybody in WV would disagree with any of that. It’s more a reflection on the ranking pundits...Zach beat Haga last year who was ranked and Zach just beat this kid last weekend 5-0 and he is ranked around 12th...I would think, when they are doing their research during the rankings each time, when they rank a kid nationally and see his record only has 1 or 2 losses, I would think they would take a moment and investigate who they got beat by and then see where that leads them. I get it, Zach does Zach as he should...it is and always has been great watching home grown WV talent grow and see what they can do at the next level and beyond in whatever they choose to do..Zach, JMB, Amos, Hall, etc. etc.
