It's safe to assume that few, if any, teams like to wrestle the week leading up to regionals. So with regionals being Feb 8 & 9, this coming regular season will end on Feb 2nd for WV. That's right, Feb 2nd. How long is this extra week thing between regionals and states going to last?

Will Humphreys wrestle in the Ironman? I saw South had eight wrestlers registered but it didn't say who the eight. And I'm pretty sure the deadline was like in April. I really hope we get to see a Jashon Hubbard vs Josh Humphreys OVAC final. They could be about the same weight. That'd be fun to watch

From what I understand the reason for wanting to do this has nothing to do with giving kids an extra weeks rest. It was to stop future skin issues at states. The problem is, the reason for the skin issue wasn't because the lack of an extra week. It was because they allowed wrestlers with skin issues...

Maybe this is just a cruel hoax/rumor. Just when everyone was putting the skin issue and the debacle of a response behind us, they're going to start trying to fix things that aren't broke?

I hope these guys get big weight allowances

I'd be surprised if the brackets are full in the "make up state". They probably both can wrestle

Here is a better solution. Forget A/AA/AAA have 1 state champion. That would make 1 regional tournament for 24 teams and would make it a 2 day tournament. That sounds great but it would never get approved because of all of the lost revenue. Motels, Restaraunts & the WVSSAC would all lose $ ,,,,...

Forfeits should and will count as wins in wrestling forever. Just like they do in every other sport in the world.
