I saw a somewhat similar situation at a middle school meet last year. Wrestler A started on bottom. He ended up with both of wrestler B's legs and proceeded to stand up. He lifts wrestler B's feet approximately 4-6 inches off the mat while wrestler B is draped over wrestler A's shoulder. The action ...

Good news.

Hamlin has had a wrestling team. In fact they had a 102 pounder place 4th at the Z's last year. Very solid wrestler all around. I recall seeing their team twice last year and what they lacked in quantity they made up with quality.

Rule 10-3 Art 3 ...When byes are required for the first round, they shall be placed by mutual consent or drawn so they are distributed evenly throughout the bracket. I can't speak for St. Albans or any of the coaches but it is a common practice to award the highest seeds byes. Just a quick glance at...

Another issue I foresee is will the wvssac be okay with another organization running the state tournament as they don't necessarily have the same agenda or interests.

Attached are the championship brackets only for the trojan invitational. The round of 32 is shown as pigtail matches; however we will be running a full double elimination tournament.

Not only does the pill put the two best wrestlers in the same half occasionally, it seems to frequently prevent kids from placing that could/should have. I've never been a fan of the pill. Perhaps they could take the top 2 kids per region and have a committee to award at large bids like the college ...

Since this has garnered some attention, Caleb Haynes is enrolled at McKinley Middle School and weighs right at 135 lbs; however he is no longer with the team.

With practice beginning on November 16th kids would have had to practice on two Saturday's and thanksgiving to have exactly 14 practices in by Wednesday. Most wrestlers are dedicated but that's hard to get every kid to show up every day over that stretch when school is out.
